Thanh brings a diverse set of experiences in education research, practice, and policy to her role as senior research manager at Empirical Education. Thanh manages the complete research cycle on several projects, including a five-year cluster-randomized trial to assess the impact of a teacher science professional development intervention as part of an Investing in Innovation (i3) grant. She has also co-authored several Institute of Education Sciences reports related to teacher evaluation and teacher mobility under Regional Educational Lab contracts. Thanh holds an MA in International Education Administration and Policy Analysis from the Stanford Graduate School of Education. Prior to joining Empirical, she taught Economics at several junior colleges in the Bay Area and served as a consultant with the World Bank on a national curriculum and textbook reform in Vietnam.
